Binge Drinking – Modern Society’s New Problem
Binge drinking is when a person consumes a large quantity of alcohol in a short period of time usually with the intention of becoming intoxicated. Binge drinking can be fun because when a drunken person is usually euphoric and there is a change in behavior. That is why these days more and more people are binge drinking and mostly young adults.
There are probably lots of reasons why a person decides to drink. It can be that drinking alcohol relaxes and soothes then especially when stressed. Some is because of peer pressure or the need to belong to a certain group. There are some who feel that they can bond to people who matter through drinking. Others drink alcohol because they are depressed and needs comfort. And for some drinking makes them feel that they are cool and stand out from the crowd. Whatever the reason of a person for binge drinking is, they should keep in mind that drinking even occasionally will have a negative effects in the body.
There are even others who binge drink for 2 days or more and effects of binge drinking ends give you a massive headache afterwards or some symptoms of alcohol withdrawal. Binge drinking can have negative effects to the body that could potentially make you sick. And alcohol in the bloodstream is not the only thing that can cause harm to the body.
Accidents such as car crash, falls, getting pregnant, and assault can occur and the sad part is that you are not only putting your life at risk but also the life of others. There have been instances of drunk drivers crashed into another car or another person and leaving them with serious damage or even death. One should seriously consider the consequence of getting intoxicated prior to engaging in binge drinking. You should know your limit and know when enough is enough for your safety and for the others peoples safety.
